Life Coaching FAQs

Life coaches help clients identify a life or career goal, define steps to achieve it, and create a plan of action. They also help clients identify strengths, weaknesses, and obstacles that affect the plan.

Professional life coaching involves relationship building and trust. Life coaches form a creative partnership with clients to identify goals, build strategies, encourage self-discovery and growth, and promote accountability and positive change.

Therapists analyze a client’s past to understand current behavior, while life coaches identify obstacles to achieving goals and provide strategies to move past those obstacles.

Coaching focuses on goal setting rather than mental health. Both aim to help clients personally, but they take different approaches.

Training and certification help you stand out. Credentialing organizations like IAPRC and ICF follow ethical standards that clients expect.
