This bachelor’s degree prepares students to teach in any elementary school. The program integrates the study and understanding of human behavior with a commitment to fostering understanding and respect for individuals from all backgrounds.
This Elementary Education Bachelor’s (B.A.) program is available as day, evening, and hybrid (on campus and online) classes to provide students the flexibility and convenience to fulfill other responsibilities. All classes are taught by faculty experts with practical experience in their fields. Many potential AU students successfully take and pass the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams to earn credit toward their degree (contingent on a score of 50 or higher). Albizu University also awards credits toward this program for prior learning and practicum placement.
Program Goals
Our elementary education bachelor’s (B.A.) program is designed to accommodate recent graduates, parents, and professionals with full-time jobs. Therefore, the elementary education degree program may be completed in three (3) to five (5) years. In extreme cases, a student may seek to obtain a maximum of two (2) additional years to complete the program.

Admission Requirements
- A high school diploma or its equivalent.
- A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) or equivalent of 2.5 or higher to be considered for admission from a high school, high school equivalent, and/or accredited institution of higher education in the United States and its territories.
Documentation Requirements:
- A completed and signed application form accompanied by the appropriate fee, within the established deadline. (See the Tuition and Fees Policy.)
- Official transcripts from all high schools, colleges, universities, or other post-secondary educational institutions.
International students applying for admission must submit their academic records to the appropriate agencies for verification of their equivalency to coursework offered in the United States. They must demonstrate the ability to meet the cost of their educational needs without financial assistance from the University.
Albizu University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Program graduates typically take the Florida Teacher Certification examinations (FTCE) to become certified teachers in Florida.

Program Highlights
The Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education program assigns a faculty advisor to assist all students with any requirements, course selection, academic needs, and the graduation process.
Students are often registered in classes with students in the Bachelor of Arts in Exceptional Student Education. This is an opportunity for further networking and sharing experiences in the students’ field of study and intended field of work.
The reduced student-teacher ratio allows for smaller classes scheduled at different times of day.
The Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education program is offered online, on campus, and in a hybrid modality.
Students can join the Kappa Delta Psi International Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Nu Chapter. This is an international organization with over 1.2 million members, which will allow our students to network with educators across the globe.
Its student teaching internship is conducted in a multicultural setting to help students develop teaching skills through practical experience.
Faculty members of this program are experts in their fields and have current practical experience in the classroom. They are required to complete research-based projects, prepare presentations on academia for target audiences, as well as attend and/or present at academic conferences. They are also encouraged to join professional work-related organizations.
Most faculty members hold a doctorate or a specialist degree in education. All faculty members are required to hold a minimum of a master's degree with various specializations in the field of education (e.g., reading, ESOL, science, social studies, etc.).
