This “We Heard You!” update highlights improvements to the Albizu University student lounge based on student feedback. In response to survey results, the Department of Student Affairs is renovating the lounge to create a more comfortable, functional, and collaborative space for students to study, connect, and recharge.
We Heard You! is a series focusing on exciting new developments at Albizu University that result from student feedback. AU takes students’ concerns and celebrations seriously, and your voice helps improve our environment.
We Heard You: A New and Improved Student Lounge at Albizu University
You spoke during last year’s Student Satisfaction Survey, and the Department of Student Affairs heard you. Last year, only 66% of students reported satisfaction with the student lounge space. In response, Dean De Llanos and the department initiated the development of a new and improved lounge designed to better meet student needs.
Scheduled to open by the end of the summer, the student lounge is currently undergoing a renovation that will create a more welcoming, multi-purpose environment. The updated lounge will include:
• A multi-purpose gathering space
• A group collaboration table
• High-top workstations
• Café-style tables
• A free library
• Comfortable seating for reading and studying
• Healthy vending machines for food and beverages

The renovated space will support students who want to work in groups, study independently, and connect with peers in a comfortable setting.
