Success with EdTech: Using the AU Blackboard Calendar
Welcome to the first post in our series, “Success with EdTech!”
This series is a collaboration between Title V and ITS and will focus on how you can use AU’s educational technology tools to maximize your student experience.
Q: How can I access and utilize the AU Blackboard Calendar?
A: The Blackboard Calendar displays assignment due dates, course meeting times, important test dates, and other key course events for your enrolled classes. This tool can help you stay organized, plan ahead, and keep up with your academic workload.
What the Blackboard Calendar Shows
The Calendar in Blackboard Learn has been significantly enhanced. When accessed from the Blackboard site or through the SunPortal link on the Albizu University homepage, the calendar provides a consolidated view of:
• Courses you are enrolled in
• University organizations
• Institutional events
• Personal calendar entries
• University organizations
• Institutional events
• Personal calendar entries
Calendar events are also color-coded by course, making it easier to track responsibilities across multiple classes.
How to Access the Calendar

Follow these steps to access the Blackboard Calendar:
1) On the course menu, click Tools.
2) On the Tools page, select Calendar.

OR
From the global navigation menu, select the Calendar icon (see image above).
Student Success Bonus Tip
From your Calendar view, you can select “Get External Calendar Link” at the bottom of the left-hand menu to download your Blackboard Calendar in an iCal format. This allows you to sync your course calendar with your Apple Calendar on your laptop and mobile devices.
