Spotlight: The Tutoring, Career, and Advisement Services Department, Part I

Summary
This Student Success Spotlight introduces Albizu University’s Tutoring, Career, and Advisement Services Department, led by Dr. Claudia Dolinsky. The department provides on-campus and online academic support resources, tutoring, APA guidance, study skills, and career readiness support to help AU students succeed throughout their academic journey and beyond graduation.
This series is a collaboration between Title V and various student-serving departments at AU.
Spotlight: The Tutoring, Career, and Advisement Services Department (Part I)
Did you know that Albizu University has a dedicated department focused on providing academic resources that support your success during your studies and beyond your academic career?
The Tutoring, Career, and Advisement Services Department, led by Dr. Claudia Dolinsky, is an excellent resource for many student needs. From tutoring support and APA style guidance to study strategies and career readiness, the department offers a wide range of tools designed to help AU students thrive.
On-Campus Academic Resources
Q: Where can I find academic resources on campus?
A: Starting next month, Dr. Dolinsky and the department will offer presentations on a variety of student success topics twice per month.
The first presentation in this series will take place on April 4 and will focus on grammar. The second will occur on April 11 and will address test-taking strategies. Both sessions will be held at 2:30 PM in LAB 406, conveniently located in the same hallway as the student lounge and Rose’s Café.
Please keep an eye out for flyers around campus and on Dr. Dolinsky’s door (Room 195) for announcements of future presentations.
Students are also welcome to visit the Tutoring, Career, and Advisement Services Department in person or contact the office at 305-593-1223, ext. 3102 and 3208.
Online Academic Resources
Q: Where can I find academic resources online?
A: Dr. Dolinsky has developed a robust collection of online academic tutorials through the tutoring portal on Blackboard.
Students can access resources on time management, study skills, writing support, and interactive English language learning tools.
We encourage you to explore these tools and take advantage of the resources available to support your academic progress.

Dr. Dolinsky graduated from Purdue University with a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Management. She has served as the Director of Student Services at Albizu University since 2005.
