ESOL program geared towards Health Professionals, Exit A

ESOL

The ESOL Program at Carlos Albizu University, Miami campus, offers 27 English courses for non-native speakers and provides the opportunity for international students to enroll. These courses are organized into nine levels. Each level is equivalent to a 15-week semester. The content of the first 18 courses, levels I through VI, focuses on General English, and its primary objective is for students to acquire the English language skills necessary to communicate fluently in real-life situations within the context of North American society.

Program objectives

The last nine courses, levels VII through IX, in this Exit A, are geared toward medicine and health in general. For example, level VII, Basic English for Health Professionals I, II, and III, is the beginning of three semesters primarily aimed at physicians and health professionals who need to pass their certification exams in order to practice their profession in the United States.
