About our Libraries

Welcome to the Carlos Albizu University libraries at the San Juan and Miami campuses. As a student at our university, you will find our libraries to be a welcoming place staffed by experts who are committed to helping you achieve your academic goals.

The mission of the Albizu libraries is to support teaching, learning, and research by providing access to recorded knowledge through the acquisition, organization, interpretation, and preservation of information appropriate to the current and future needs of those served by the libraries.

Our libraries are named in memory of the University’s founder and first president, Dr. Carlos Albizu-Miranda.  You will find them to be dynamic learning centers with holdings that are closely aligned with the academic offerings of the University to provide for the study and research needs of its users.

The libraries’ general collection includes books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, atlases, print periodicals, audiovisual materials and equipment, psychological tests, and online databases.  Among the services provided are high speed Wi-Fi Internet access and interlibrary loans. Our libraries are members of the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC), which offers you the world’s largest bibliographic utility such as cataloging and interlibrary loan services. We offer remote access to electronic resources through Cobimet, which provides access to databases containing thousands of electronic periodical titles and E-books.
