Master’s in Psychology Programs
Grant Funding Announcement
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) division, has awarded CAU funding for its proposed Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training for Professionals and Paraprofessionals three-year project (2014-2017). This project is in support of the White House’s Now is the Time initiative Behavioral Health Workforce grant program that aims to expand the mental health and substance abuse workforce serving children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth (16-25) at risk for developing or who have developed a recognized behavioral health disorder.
Carlos Albizu University in partnership with Behavioral Science Research Institute is investing in the workforce development of Master’s in Psychology students interested in working with underserved youth and their families during their practicum placement beginning in Spring 2015.
Eligible students in the Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy tracks will be able to compete for stipends of $10,000 for the duration of their practicum placement. They will have the opportunity to not only gain valuable experience on integrated care and changes in behavioral healthcare but also to make a positive impact in our community!
