The Speech Language Pathology Clinic (SLPC) at Carlos Albizu University, San Juan campus, is the on-campus training clinic that serves as the primary clinical practicum site for students enrolled in the Master’s of Speech Language Pathology Program. As a graduate student under the supervision of both licensed and American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certified speech language pathologists, you will provide culturally sensitive services to diverse special populations in the areas of dysphagia, autism, developmental disorders, motor speech disorders, neurological impairments, hearing impairments, cognitive disabilities, and reading and writing disorders, among others.
The SLP Clinic offers the following services to children and adults:
- Speech and language screenings and evaluations
- Hearing screenings and evaluations
- Speech and language treatment to clients with diverse conditions
- Dysphagia evaluations and treatment
- Guidance to patients, parents and families
As a graduate student, you will also have the opportunity to develop clinical skills in areas such as dysphagia and assistive technology by receiving training in our specialized labs.
