Albizu University and the Violence Prevention and Intervention Division of the Community Action and Human Services Department partnered on a historic academic and advocacy meeting held at our Miami campus.  Last Thursday 330 men attended the “Calling All Men: Stand Up Against Violence” conference at AU.  This was the largest gathering of men in the history of Miami and the largest event of its kind ever held in our campus.

A Successful Showcase

A Successful Showcase

Albizu University prides itself on community involvement.

Albizu Miami - On October 29, 2015 Albizu University opened its doors to over 80 young minds visiting our campus from two local schools including Palm Glades Charter School and School House Preparatory Academy.

During their visit they were able to experience our new undergraduate science wing and labs, where our very own Dr. Jaime Picañol, using mice and mazes, explained the psychology of learning, memory, and cognition. The students also attended an Anthropology presentation by our Director  of Undergraduate programs Dr. Rafael Martinez and met with Detective Alejandro Galan who spoke about Fire Investigations and presented a case to the students with real evidence, facts and findings.

Albizu University prides itself on community involvement. Activities like this one where we can attract and entice young minds is fascinating and speaks to the mission and vision at Albizu University.

For more information on scheduling visits or learning more about our graduate and undergraduate programs please visit www.albizu. edu or call 305-593-1223.
