AU Miami Campus Open

Dear AU-Miami community,

I am pleased to announce that we will open our campus and resume regular academic and service activities tomorrow.

I want to express my most sincere gratitude to Administration and Information Technology Services staff who prepared the campus for the storm and were back on campus as soon as possible to help restore our operations.

Now a little wiser and more appreciate of life for having gone through this experience, we are ready to have a wonderful 2017-2018 academic year.

Looking forward to seeing you back on campus!

Hurricane Irma Update

Hurricane Irma Update

Dear AU-Miami community,

I hope this message finds you all doing well and that hurricane Irma did not cause much personal or material damage to you or your family.

We have completed our preliminary inspection of our facilities. The building's structure appears to be intact. However, the campus remains without electricity. We are working with local authorities to resume the electric service as soon as possible. Once this is done, we will be able to complete the inspection and announce our re-opening day, which we anticipate to be either Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

You should expect to receive an update tomorrow through our Facebook page and our website.

Until then, get your personal issues in order and help your neighbors.

All the best,

Etiony Aldarondo, Ph.D.

Notice!

Notice:
Dear AU students,

I hope this message finds you well. After reviewing the latest information on the projected path of hurricane Irma we have decided to close the campus for classes and all other academic events tomorrow Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We look forward to regrouping and moving on with the academic semester after the storm has passed.

We encourage you to take prudent steps to ensure your own personal preparedness and safety. We also encourage you to lookout for your fellow classmates. Moments like this challenge us to make the well-being and safety of others equally important to our own. Please reach out to your fellow classmates to make sure they know about the storm and are taking steps to protect themselves. If they waver or seem unsure as to what to do ask them if they need help. They will be grateful and we will all be a better community for it.

I will be sending additional communications tomorrow and in the days to come. Please check your emails, Facebook, and website periodically for updates.

All the best,

Etiony Aldarondo, Ph.D.
