Albizu University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (267-284-5000) www.msche.org. The MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).  Albizu University is accredited by MSCHE since 1974.

American Psychological Association (APA)
Since the 1990s, our Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology programs offered in the San Juan and Miami campuses as well as the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology are accredited by the APA.

The Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology program at the Mayaguez University Center is applying for accreditation in September 2021.

Albizu University is approved to provide coursework leading to state certification in Early Childhood Education and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and for elementary school educators to obtain a Reading Endorsement. Students completing a program leading to certification are reminded that while the curriculum of the program is designed to assist students in obtaining certification by outside agencies, the completion of all program requirements does not guarantee automatic eligibility for certification.

The Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education program is developed in accordance with the teaching certification requirements of the Florida Bureau of Educator Certification (BEC). The curriculum offered complies with the required BEC standards.
